Mr. Barber's experience as a professional engineer touches on most aspects of the Civil Engineering field, with an emphasis on the  development of private and municipal civil projects. He has experience in project management, technical staff supervision, business development, and regulatory agency correspondence. He demonstrates expertise and aptitude in drainage and flood control projects including hydrologic / hydraulic analysis, modeling and design.  Other experience includes sanitary sewer system analysis, modeling, and design.  Residential, commercial, and mixed use development background includes design of temporary and permanent erosion control measures, in addition to grading, drainage, roadway and utility design.

As a Project Engineer his work included design and drafting of civil improvement plans for residential, mixed-use, and commercial development projects, including hydraulic systems, grading, roadways and utilities.  Preparation of plans, specifications and construction cost estimates.  Preparation of hydrology reports, hydraulic reports, and sanitary sewer reports.  Noteworthy Projects; CVS Pharmacy-Las Vegas,  Cambay Residential Subdivision, National Avenue Erosion Control Project – Lake Tahoe, Firenze Residential Subdivision.  Typical duties included preparation of preliminary project permit applications, development of preliminary environmental documents, analysis and design for drainage facilities, design of erosion control and water quality improvement measures.  Additional duties included assistance in the preparation of plans, specifications, construction cost estimates, contract administration, construction inspection, client and regulatory agency interface, and structural design.  Survey related duties included topographic survey and construction staking.  Noteworthy Projects;  Town and Country Storage / Business Center, North Lookout Mountain Ski Pod – Northstar Ski Resort, Midway to Squaw Valley Class I Bike Trail, Lower Squaw Creek Emergency Rechannelization.

Primarily involved with construction engineering and management for contractor during the construction of a new water reclamation facility for the Camrosa Water District in Camarillo, California.  Duties included the interpretation of plans and specifications, estimation of quantities for procurement of construction materials and allocation of equipment.  Preparation of submittals for review by owner's on-site engineer.  Interface with suppliers to obtain prices and preparation of purchase orders for construction materials.  Tracking of man and equipment hours.  Subcontract management. Construction staking survey for layout of facilities.
