Mr. Jones has over thirty years of experience inspecting engineering and construction projects. He has extensive experience with material verification, all phases of shop fabrication and welding, field installation/erection of piping,vessels, heat exchangers, structural steel and water tanks.
He has experience with carbon and stainless steels, copper nickel, dissimilar and exotic metals such as titanium, zirconium, hasteloy and tantalum. He performed close and very close dimensional verification of pressure vessels, piping and tanks to petroleum, water works, chemical, military and aerospace standards. He performed torque and pull tests on bolts, anchors, epoxy installations and electrical feeder lugs, retrofit of existing structures, installation of grouted and epoxy anchors and rebar for shotcrete shear walls. He performed and monitored all phases of pressure and vacuum tests, hydrostatic, CO2, helium leak and purge tests. Mr. Jones acquired Level II certification in dye penetrant, magnetic particle and radiography. He performed slump tests and test cylinders for concrete placement and monitored mixing and placement of concrete, and high strength bolting and pre-tensioning of tensioning devices.
Mr. Jones was the Chief Inspector on the Earl Schmidt Water Filtration Plant Expansion from 25 MGD to 56 MGD and the Earl Schmidt Pump Station from 9 / 2003 – 11 / 2005. He was responsible for all civil, structural, carpentry, concrete, coatings, piping, mechanical, welding, electrical, landscaping and paving.
Most recently Mr. Jones has been heavily involved with street maintenance projects, including asphalt overlay and slurry seal for the Cities of Santa Barbara and Goleta. He has been involved with street work at Flowers & Associates, Inc. for the past 10 years. Duties include inspection of all phases of asphalt preparation, grinding, removal, cleaning, placement, compaction, monitoring of approved Traffic Control Plans and implementation of traffic control measures, inspection and monitoring of materials, Summaries of Quantities, personnel and equipment. Experienced with all phases of slurry seal, chip seal and micro seal processes.
