Mr. Jones brings more than 30 years of experience in construction inspection, quality assurance, and materials verification for complex engineering and industrial construction projects. His extensive background includes inspection of fabrication, welding, installation, and field construction activities involving piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, structural steel, and water storage facilities.
He has extensive experience with a wide range of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper nickel, and specialty metals such as titanium, zirconium, Hastelloy, and tantalum. His inspection experience includes dimensional verification of pressure vessels, piping systems, and tanks; bolt torque and pull testing; anchor and epoxy installations; structural retrofits; rebar and shotcrete installations; and concrete placement monitoring. He has performed and witnessed various testing procedures, including hydrostatic, vacuum, helium leak, CO₂, and purge testing. Mr. Jones also holds Level II certifications in dye penetrant, magnetic particle, and radiographic testing and has experience with concrete testing, high-strength bolting, and tensioning systems.
Mr. Jones served as Chief Inspector for the Earl Schmidt Water Filtration Plant Expansion and Earl Schmidt Pump Station Improvements, where he oversaw construction activities associated with expanding treatment capacity from 25 MGD to 56 MGD and pump station improvements from 2003 through 2005. His responsibilities included inspection of civil, structural, concrete, mechanical, piping, welding, electrical, coatings, landscaping, and paving work.
For the past decade with Flowers & Associates, Inc., Mr. Jones has focused extensively on municipal roadway maintenance projects, providing construction inspection services for asphalt overlay and slurry seal projects for the Cities of Santa Barbara and Goleta. His responsibilities include inspection of asphalt preparation, grinding, removal, surface cleaning, paving, compaction, traffic control implementation, materials verification, quantity tracking, and contractor operations.
Mr. Jones has extensive experience with asphalt rehabilitation methods, including slurry seal, chip seal, micro-surfacing, and pavement overlay projects. His thorough understanding of construction processes, materials testing, and field inspection provides valuable support in delivering high-quality public infrastructure improvements.
